GOALL to Present at this Year’s PAFCAF Conference
Go Out and Learn Life (GOALL), the state youth advisory board, will be presenting at the 2016 Palmetto Association for Children & Families (PAFCAF) conference later this month (2/18-2/19) in Myrtle Beach, SC. PAFCAF’s annual conference provides an opportunity for organizations that serve youth in foster care to connect and share their successes with one another.
This year’s conference is themed “Mission Possible” as in our mission—of helping youth successfully transition out of the foster care system—is possible. When we come together as a village, we are capable of glorious things.
GOALL’s presentation “Wizard of Odds: Helping Youth Along their Yellow Brick Road” will provide an entertaining and realistic look at the issues of a youth in transition. Their presentation spotlights the difficulties many youth have on the road to success and illuminates how our intervention can help them get to the top.
Additionally, Dr. Monique Mitchell will present “Making Missions Possible: Meaningful Relationships and the Transition Out of Foster Care” during the conference. Dr. Mitchell’s talk will present data/findings from the SC NYTD surveys and provide information to PAFCAF members about what youth are saying, as well as updates about SC NYTD Youth Voice and other effective SC NYTD initiatives.
It is going to be a landmark PAFCAF this year! We’re so excited to be participating in the conference. If you’re interested in joining GOALL and having an opportunity to represent the voice of youth in the South Carolina foster care system, please contact Tessa Adams at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (803) 777-5225.
